MAPA’s Pave Maine Awards recognizes exemplary quality asphalt pavements. All pavements — roads, highways, commercial parking lots — are eligible for a Pave Maine Award.
Eligibility and Guidelines:
1. The Maine Asphalt Pave Maine awards are open to all Maine asphalt producers and all Maine contractors whoare current members of MAPA.
2. Entries will be based on project tonnage. There are 4 categories to choose from;a. 0-500b. 501-2,500c. 2,501-9,999d. 10,000- and above3. Projects submitted must be substantially complete and open to traffic (meaning that there may still be work tobe done, such as striping, guard rails, landscaping etc.) at time of submission. Only Maine projects are eligible.Judging: Entries are judged on 5 areas below. Please write a brief narrative on how the submission impacts the following (aparagraph or two);1. Construction Techniques or Materials2. Executing a Difficult or Challenging Job
3. Partnering with Your Client
4. Positive Impacts to the Community
5. Safety
Instructions:
1. Email five digital photos, suitable for publication (set camera for highest resolution possible) along with your application.
2. Brief narrative of the project including; Construction Techniques or Materials, Executing a Difficult or Challenging Job, Partnering with Your Client, Positive Impacts to the Community, Safety. Also include a one page summary about the project, companies involved and why the project deserves the MAPA Pave Maine Award.
3. Submissions will only be accepted by email (info@maine-apa.org). All Submissions will be submitted via a PDF and will include all items in one document. Please include in this order: Submission Form, Brief Narrative of the Project, and 5 photos.
4. Winners in each category will present their project at the Annual Spring Paving Seminar, on April 6, 2027.

Maine Asphalt Pavement Association 2026 Scholarship Application
The Maine Asphalt Pavement Association scholarship awards have typically been between $500.00 and $2,500 per recipient and are dependent on both the availability of funds and the pool of applicants in any given year. These scholarships are intended to assist the student with the cost of tuition and are to be used solely for this purpose and will be made out directly to the school.
The Maine Asphalt Pavement Association Scholarship Program is eligible for students who meet the following criteria:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s program (preferred but not required) in construction management, civil engineering, or a related industry field, or in a technical or vocational school.
Connection to the Industry directly through a family member who’s company is a member of the Maine Asphalt Pavement Association (https://maine-apa.org/members).
Maine residency or graduate of Maine high school.
Intent to live and work in Maine upon graduation.
Applications may be submitted emailed or mailed to Maine Asphalt Pavement Association, postmarked no later than July 10, 2026.
